My creative process starts with scouting a location for the perfect image. Once I decide on a location, I consider the weather conditions, the lighting, and how to obtain a unique perspective that will contribute to the overall shot.
Sometimes capturing an image requires going to great lengths. This could mean visiting a site numerous times before the elements align with my vision for the photograph. It can lead me wading out into crashing waves or struggling through knee deep pluff mud and swarms of mosquitoes.
I custom craft the frames myself on my family's farm in Awendaw, SC with reclaimed wood materials when possible. Each finished piece is printed on high quality cotton rag paper, double matted, and sealed in archival quality glass. The final result is an elegant, yet rustic, and timeless piece of artwork.
